The Nine Systems are a federal government entity composed of nine star systems and various galactic trade zones, free states, demilitarized quadrants and other sovereign and unrecognized territories centered around System Three, originally called "The Solar System." As a body of government, the Nine Systems include a Chancellor appointed by the leaders in corporate, military and private business spaces. There is also legislative system, called the High System Parliament, and legislative functions within each System called Dacha Supremacies.

Currently, the Nine Systems is composed of 83 planets, planetoids or other inhabited celestial bodies. The system includes 12 unclassified jumpgates, 10 massive space docks, and 17 large Navy Yards.

History of the Nine Systems, Colonization & More[edit]

Origins and Expansion[edit]

In the distant future, humanity's reach extended beyond the confines of Earth, driven by insatiable greed and the lust for power. The Nine Systems, a collection of nine solar systems each teeming with habitable planets, became the stage for humanity's most ambitious and darkest chapter.

System One (restricted)[edit]

System One, the cradle of the Nine Systems, was discovered first. Rich in resources, it became the epicenter of human expansion. However, the discovery was marred by the enslavement of indigenous species and the ruthless exploitation of natural resources. Entire planets were stripped bare, their ecosystems destroyed to fuel the burgeoning human empire.

System Two: The Industrial Heart[edit]

System Two quickly followed, becoming the industrial heart of the Nine Systems. Massive factories and mining operations were established, often at the expense of local populations. The skies of its planets were choked with pollution, and the ground was scarred by relentless extraction. The inhabitants were forced into labor, their lives deemed expendable in the pursuit of progress.

System Three: The Seat of Power[edit]

System Three, our Solar System, with Earth at its center, became the breadbasket of the empire. Vast agricultural complexes were built, but the bounty came at a terrible cost. Native species were driven to extinction, and the land was worked by slaves brought from other systems. Earth, specifically the city of New Orleans Prime, housed the paramount seat of government, where the ruling elite orchestrated their conquests.

System Four (restricted)[edit]

System Four was designated as a restricted military zone, off-limits to civilians. It became a testing ground for the empire's most devastating weapons and a training ground for its military forces. Classified experiments and covert operations were conducted in secrecy, often resulting in catastrophic destruction. The few who dared to venture into System Four without authorization were never seen again. System Four houses the Nine Systems' most secretive and secure installations.

System Five: The Cultural Hub[edit]

System Five was envisioned as a cultural hub, a place where art and knowledge would flourish. However, the reality was far darker. Cultural artifacts were plundered from conquered worlds, and dissent was brutally suppressed. The ruling class used propaganda to maintain control, rewriting history to glorify their conquests and erase the atrocities committed.

System Six: The Technological Frontier[edit]

System Six became the technological frontier, home to advanced research and development. But innovation came at a high price. Scientists and engineers were often coerced into service, their families held hostage to ensure compliance. Failed experiments and accidents were common, leading to widespread suffering and loss of life.

System Seven: The Pleasure Worlds[edit]

System Seven was developed into a series of pleasure worlds, catering to the whims of the elite. These planets were paradises on the surface, but beneath the veneer of luxury lay a dark underbelly. The local populations were subjugated and forced into servitude, their cultures erased to create playgrounds for the rich and powerful.

System Eight: The Penal Colonies[edit]

System Eight was transformed into a series of penal colonies, where the empire sent its most dangerous criminals and political dissidents. These harsh environments were designed to break the spirit of the incarcerated, with brutal labor camps and minimal resources for survival. The planets of System Eight became synonymous with suffering and despair, a stark warning to those who dared to oppose the ruling regime.

System Nine: The Final Frontier[edit]

System Nine, the last to be discovered, was the final frontier. It represented the ultimate reach of the empire, a symbol of its dominance. But the expansion into System Nine was marked by fierce resistance from indigenous species. The ensuing conflicts were brutal, with entire planets laid waste in the struggle for control.

Legacy of the Nine Systems[edit]

The history of the Nine Systems is a testament to humanity's capacity for both greatness and cruelty. The empire that spanned these systems was built on a foundation of exploitation, oppression, and violence. The legacy of the Nine Systems serves as a stark reminder of the cost of unchecked ambition and the dark side of human nature.
